This is the gateway to his black belt.

It lasted 2 hours and 38 minutes

plus another 20 minutes for the judges

to tally results.

Bee Hive Cake & Cupcakes Prep

On Thursday we started making the bees.

First the bodies and wings

Then the stripes, eyes and stingers

Then we stick them on

On Friday morning Mummy made the lemon cake

and the chocolate cake

Then waited for the cakes and 

cupcakes to cool off before freezing them.

Meanwhile Daddy makes honeycomb

At night, Mummy began making the butter cream icing

The two cakes were then sliced into four layers

and stacked up alternately

The top was then shaved into a dome shape

Icing was then spread all over

Then began the twirling of the yellow fondant

Finally the bees, door and name were added to the hive

The leftover icing was piped onto the cupcakes

and bees and honeycomb were place on top.
