Day 20 : Homeward bound

One last pose at the Mantra before we head home.

All ready to go at 7.02 am with his iPad and headphones.

Home sweet home at 7.56 pm!
We've done 5,434.4 km this 20-day trip; t
he longest drive Mummy has ever done.

It's nice to see that someone misses his piano.
He got stuck into it after his shower.

Day 19 : Gold Coast

Another glorious day perfect for the pool!

Later in the arvo...
Hugh and Mummy went on the Aquasplash "wipeout" adventure!

And Chiang Mai Thai was the perfect way to end our last day here.

Day 18 : Gold Coast

After 2 days of heavy rain, we woke up to glorious sunshine this morning!

Apparently today's Chinese lunch was the yummiest meal he's had this trip!

Day 17 : Rockhampton to Gold Coast

Another day of driving through bad weather :(

Was rather stressful watching out for reckless drivers.

However, we chanced upon a pleasant find- The Ginger Factory!

Mummy had a very yummy ginger deluxe ice-cream and
we also bought some ginger tea, ginger beer and gingerbread man :)

On the bright side, we got a room upgrade at Mantra Sun City.

Day 16 : Townsville to Rockhampton

We had to leave Townsville early to get a good headstart ...
which was a pity as the hotel was nice.

About 2.45 hrs into our drive we stopped for brekkie at Le Sorelle in Bowen.
Someone was happy because he got his vanilla milkshake, banana bread and wifi!!

After breakfast we were supposed to have two more stops before Rockhampton
but somehow we trudged all the way and arrived two hours ahead of schedule!

Then we stuffed ourselves with a huge ribs dinner.

Day 15 : Port Douglas to Townsville

We had brekkie again at Little Larder before leaving for Townsville.

Here he's trying to force a smile as he's too tired to wake up early...
plus breakfast wasn't interesting enough.

Once we got into Mercure Townsville, he's happy again in a pool
which was lovelier than expected.

Cuddle before dinner was awesome!

Dinner was pretty awesome too!

Day 14 : Mossman Gorge

It's been raining so much pretty everyday the past week
that we almost didn't pick up the courage to visit
this beautiful place.

The grounds were still a bit soggy, mind you...
fortunately there are concrete pathways built all around.

The water is supposedly the second cleanest in the world.

We came across the Rex Creek suspension bridge.

It started to rain again right before our walking tour
where we learned about the native trees and cultures.

We learned about a stinging tree called Milli Milli but probably
better known as Gympie Gympie.

We also got a go at aboriginal painting :)
Hugh hesitated for some time but all of a sudden decided
to try it when we were about to leave!

Hence, Mummy had to do a super quick job to come up with this:

1st Day of 2016 Low Isles

So glad we moved the snorkelling trip to today as the weather was beautiful!

We took a catamaran named Wavedancer III to the Low Isles.
Chose this instead of the outer reef as we weren't sure
if Hugh will like snorkeling as this was his first attempt.

The highlight of this trip was swimming so close to the green turtle.
