short story of flight EK433

Our flight back to Dubai is at 0940hrs and Hugh's woken up at 0630hrs. Strangely with a few stretches and roll-overs, he awakes with a smile despite only having had 8hours' sleep. Perhaps it's because he sees familiar faces - Mummy's, Grandma's and Grand aunt Rose's.

We board our flight at 0900hrs and Daddy has the boy on his lap but of course he wants to get down.

Once let loose, he touches everything in sight...

... and refuses to buckle up.

After take-off, Mummy bribes him with a cartoon and he gives it his full attention.

He gets a child meal but wishes to eat on his own.

Finally about 2 hours into the flight, fatique overwhelmed the boy and he sleeps like a baby... allowing Mummy to have brunch and watch Angels & Demons.

2nd zoo trip in videos

Hugh goes to the zoo but is happiest inside this broken-down display jeep... alamak!

The boy and daddy feeding the giraffe but Hugh was a little scared of the giraffe.

Now feeding the kangaroos but we weren't sure what's going on in the boy's mind.

Hugh appreciating the preformance given by Phillip the sea lion.

mood swing

If there's one thing the boy is good at...it's changing from this sweet face...

...to this in a matter of seconds!

winged friends

Visited the Jurong Bird Park today since the boy can say the word "bird".

He had a great time and his favourite part is still the penguin exhibit
albeit the the bird show also fascinated him a lot.

2nd lion dance

The 4th day of the Lunar New Year saw many lion dances in our neighbourhood. We were in time to catch this one just metres from our usual playground.

lion dance

We heard the clanging and drumbeat of a lion dance troupe and rushed out to locate it. After following the sounds for about 3 minutes, we spotted some guys from the troupe having a rest under a block. They told us that the "lion" was on the 12th floor so we took the lift up to investigate.

True enough "it" was inside one of the flats and Hugh peers through the window with full concentration.

"Lion" about to leave the flat.

Posing with one of troupe members.

boy vs wild

Since we have been here Hugh has been fascinated by the wild animals.
Everything is stopped when he sees a dog or bird. He has also harassed crabs , poked frogs in the bum (mummy made him wash his hands after) and pointed at Geckos.
Today he found a dragon fly on the bed.

sit-in closet

There's a walk-in closet in our room but apparently, it's also big enough for the boy to sit inside.

And off he goes... not waiting for the rest.

Can't sit still for the ceremony.

made new friends

We got to know some people who live near Grandma's...

Oliver and his Mummy Amber. Today we visited them at their home in Jalan Girang and played with their 2-year old Jack Russell called Patch.

Here the boys give Amber a big hug.
