After the storm comes hail

Four days after the terrible storm that left us "powerless",

we experienced about three minutes of hail.

After we checked out of Meriton

we went to see the march.

Aquarium, Wildlife and Tussauds on a school day

Hugh skipped school today since we're in Sydney and

of course we had to do the touristy things!

He was thrilled to meet a couple of new wax figures:

Thor...

... and Spiderman.

He also had to pose with Jackie again.

Pre-Mother's Day at Kingsleys

We further justified our Sydney escape with an advance

Mother's Day celebration.

So we had a lovely dinner at Kingsleys Steakhouse.

Sydney escape

This is literally an escape...

from the darkness and power-less Wyoming.

So after school we drove down to Sydney

and checked into Meriton on Kent...

...where the boy was happy to be watching TV again.

Dark night #2

Not as interesting as the movie, 

ours was just another night with no power.

No BBQ tonight but simply cheese and crackers

in candlelight. 

Our first "hurricane" and power outage

On the night we returned from Singapore,

a huge cyclone-like experience left our backyard looking 

like this the next morning.

It also caused a power outage so we ate in candle-light. 

Daddy charcoal-barbequed steak and chicken for our dinner.

At least the boy seemed unfazed despite no Xbox :)

Trainride from SYD International

We caught a train to Gosford after we arrived in Sydney.

It wasn't raining but an altogether smooth ride.

Flying back to Sydney

We had some time to kill at Changi...

so he played some games on the iPad.

Once we got on board, it wasn't long before...

he K.O.'d!

Good thing we had three seats!

With Godma

We went back to the same Coffee Bean at AMK Hub 

where he first met Godma Cheryl

Car wash

Fascinated by the car being washed while he's inside.

Gardens by the Bay

On our first ever visit, the tulips were on display!

At first he was happy to have his photo taken with Cupcake...

However, after a few shots he was happy to do solos...

and plenty of them!

History Lesson at National Museum

He learned a bit about the late Founding Father.

The kids love Kayle

Both Cristabelle and Hugh think Kayle 

is the cutest toddler in the world!

Legoland Videos

They went round and round the lazy river.

Had a go at Mindstorm programming.

Watched a performance in the Star Wars section.

Saw a mini dragon dance.

Drove a Lego car.

Helped put out a fake fire.

Lastly, their all-time favourite was the laser shooting

in the Egypt section. 

It's Mummy's too because it's indoors with air-conditioning :)
