The boy's decided to feed himself at Limetree Cafe. After feeding him some spoonfuls of pumpkin & bacon hash, he kept grabbing the spoon so we let him... and he managed to put the food inside his mouth and not on the floor! Bravo!

Then later in the evening at Robert and Remi's, he sucked the pomegranate juice from a bottle with a straw! Woo-hoo!

The poor boy tried to befriend another toddler at the Babyshop play room but got a scratch on the face from him instead. He was surprised by the mean boy's actions as this was something new to him.

Mummy saw the stunned look on his face and her heart broke. It's undescribable...

Since Hugh loves the water so much, we decided to join the Pharoah's Health Club which has two nice pools; one called the Lazy River complete with salt water and current.

This afternoon was our first day there and already he's pee'd, vomitted and get this...poo'd (first time he's ever done this) in the pool!

Someone got his first haircut today! It was quite an experience. The atmosphere of the kids' salon at Favourite Things is bright and cheery and it certainly has the "tools" to make a child as young as Hugh feel quite at home.

Even the stylist was friendly and sociable albeit Mummy's not sure if she's totally happy with the outcome of the snip. Good thing is... Hugh doesn't mind it so much :)

These days the boy's super clingy and whinges when he's 2 inches away from Mummy.

One year ago Grandma came over to help out during confinement month and brought these pyjamas which Mummy took one look and said, "Wow, how big do you think my baby is???"

Well... Hugh wore them for the first time last night!

happy 1st birthday hugh!

Daddy had to work like forever today so we waited and waited and waited.... and waited some more before he finally closed the lappie and took a shower. Mummy was blowing up balloons

By then Hugh's fast asleep and despite very carefully trying to get him into the car, he woke up. Luckily Daddy's brilliant birthday present for him was a portable DVD player which he loved! Well, he loved The Wiggledancing DVD that is.

Anyway, once we eventually stepped out of the flat, we headed to Dubai Festival City for the boy to play in the Children's play area.

Dinner was at Yo! Sushi as everywhere else was packed with people breaking fast.

Then we went to Marble Slab Creamery for ice-cream!

The last pit stop was at the carousel which he didn't quite enjoy though.
